The Walking Dead Season 2 Finale... wow!

I'd just like to point out that anyone who watches TWD should not read this because it may contain spoilers! Also, you should probably exit this blog and watch the episode already.

Glad to see that T-Dog finally gets a few lines in this episode, too.

All in all, I must say I was incredibly surprised at the quality of last night's episode. To be completely honest, Season 2 had been a bit of a letdown for me compared to the previous season. Sure, the producers might have intentionally put them in a more stable location to leave room for character development, but in my opinion they took it too far as to completely disregard the main point of the TV show (in my opinion): zombies. I think there were all too many episodes where the main focus was on the social problems going on on the farm and not enough zombie head-exploding. :)

Anyways, to start off, the finale started a bit more differently than others. It already became interesting when the first scene showed a hoard of zombies and the mysterious helicopter in the city. Soon, they started going over to Herschel's farm after they heard Dale's gun go off in the woods. The ranch is soon under attack by thousands of zombies and it is up to Rick's group and Herschel's family to ward them off. Too bad it wasn't just a handful, but literally thousands of zombies endlessly pouring into the farm.

To make things short, everyone is able to get away to safety... save for a few unfortunate people (not saying). Andrea gets separated from the group and finds herself cornered by zombies in the woods as she runs away, only to be saved by a mysterious hooded figure (not cliche.. at all :P) with a katana and what seems like two zombie slaves. Don't believe me? Watch the episode already! From what I've heard, the mysterious person is one of the later occurring characters in the comic book series (her name is Michonne), so I'll be looking forward to that. The rest of the gang meet and fortify at the highway where it all started in Season 2 and find some shelter as they plan their next move, Andrea already considered dead.

Why I loved this episode? Because of how fast-paced it was. There were barely any 10 minute, emotional dialogues between anyone and had a satisfying amount of guns and dead zombies (apologies for sounding so barbaric). This was a great comeback; it reminded me a lot of Season 1 and I can safely say that I am looking forward to Season 3!

P.S. Sorry, I still can't stand Lori. As much as I've tried to get used to her, I just can't.

American Horror Story!

Some of you guys might have seen the cheesy teasers for American Horror Story (a TV show that aired in 2011). I wasn't a huge horror/thriller fanatic at the time so I just ignored it.  Besides, it looked too much like a mashup of overused horror themes and stereotypical characters.

What finally brought me to watch it was because of boredom. Well, that's what I told myself. Truth is, a little part of me actually devours TV shows like these so I thought I'd give it a try! And it was possibly one of the best decisions I made, TV show-wise.
What's so special about AHS is how it can already give you the chills by the way it's been filmed, its transitions, and its extremely spooky opening sequence. In addition, it's hard to find the one main character/protagonist. Now, people who like to follow the solid TV show structure might find this unappealing, but it in fact adds more mystery and gives you a chance to explore all the characters. AHS doesn't tell you everything from the start, there are even a few very vague clues scattered around for you to find out. Even by the season finale, you are left hanging to decide the answer to some of the questions. And... the plot twists! The plot twists are just... everywhere! And they are possibly my favorite part of the whole show. You can never predict what's coming and keeps you coming back for more. The actors in my opinion are great and it is very well-written overall.  I was devastated when Season 1 was over so fast, but I am glad there will be another one (different setting, story, house, etc. however). There is rarely any outright gore. No, the writers weren't that amateurish in trying to 'scare' you. It's the little things that really get to you.

AHS isn't your average horror story. I am so glad FX had decided to take up a new show that still has the old horror components, but have implemented so many unique elements that make it so creepy, so deranged, and so perfect! You will definitely be impressed (and creeped out) by the first episode. Even if you are not a huge horror fan, you will definitely enjoy this show if you enjoy mystery, drama, or thrillers.

Now that I'm done with AHS for now, I'm planning on watching Sherlock. Any opinions on that?

Is it time to say good-bye to The Simpsons?

So many of you guys might know that there was a bit of a scare where people thought The Simpsons would end in a few more seasons. Here is an article where it is stated that it will go on at least until Season 25, which is a relief. However, must all good things come to an end? As many of you probably have, I grew up watching The Simpsons on a daily basis, and I've been glad for such a long time that they were the one consistent television show.

However, I've noticed that the show has gone downhill nowadays; even though it DOES keep its charm and unique touch, there are more recycled, predictable jokes and a lot more inappropriate content.

Trust me, I really AM glad that The Simpsons won't be ending any time soon, but I'm thinking it will end after Season 25 or maybe one or two more seasons. Although I'll be upset like many others, I wouldn't be very surprised. So tell me guys. Is it a good time to bid farewell to our favorite American family? :)

Person of Interest: I love this TV show!

A lot of you are probably aware that a lot of new season premieres are going on right about now. I've been busy watching them but there was one in particular that caught my eye: it's a new TV show called Person of Interest.

Here is a short summary:
PERSON OF INTEREST stars Jim Caviezel, Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson in a crime thriller about a presumed dead former-CIA agent, Reese, who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Finch, to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice.

Reese's special training in covert operations appeals to Finch, a software genius who invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes. Using state-of-the-art surveillance technology, the two work outside of the law, using Reese's adept skills and Finch's unlimited wealth to unravel the mystery of the "person of interest" and stop the crime before it happens. Reese's actions draw the attention of the NYPD, including homicide detective Carter, and Fusco, a cop whom Reese uses to his advantage. With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything. (link)

I watched the pilot and I have to say I love it. Somehow this show seems new and fresh. The show itself is a very good idea and is NOT a letdown. Acting and plot was very good, and I was actually very excited for the upcoming episode after I finished watching the pilot. It really makes you think about how many times we are being watched and observed everyday. Anyone who likes action and mystery will adore this.

Anyone else watch some good shows recently? :)

Do you believe in horoscopes (and HIMYM)?

When I was young I used to believe all kinds of crazy things. I must admit that to this day I'm still a big interested in blood type personalities and horoscopes. Doesn't mean I believe them, but they're still fun for me! Now I'm no expert in astrology so I have no idea if horoscopes and zodiac signs are actually accurate or something to entertain us. Either way, I find that horoscopes are very fun to look at, although I'm not one of those crazy types that base their relationships and actions on horoscopes. It's cool to think what my "type" of people are "supposed" to do. What about you guys? Do you believe in things like Zodiac or Chinese animal horoscopes?

On another note, I just watched the new episode of How I Met Your Mother today! Absolutely loved it and I thought it was touching. I won't give any spoilers here, so you better watch it! :)

Have a great day guys...
